Hey, I’m Ian Chen, studying Statistics and Computer Science as a fourth-year undergraduate at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. I am interested generally in algorithmic computer science and applications of probability. Specifically, I am always looking for creative ideas in algorithms for graphs and networks.

Research

I’m currently working on Network Science with Tandy Warnow and George Chacko. We are scaling local community detection, also known as community search, towards networks with millions to billions of nodes.
